Iris folded Halloween design ideas
SpOoOkY season is upon us and with that, brings fun themed crafting!
Hi, I am Amanda – some of you may know me from HobbyMaker, met me at shows or seen me over on the Pretty in Paper Socials. I absolutely LOVE themed crafts – Halloween being an underrated craft theme (in my opinion). One of the many things I love about Halloween is the variety of things you can make, eat or dress up as! 😆 That being said, I do NOT watch horror films (I’m too much of a scaredy cat!) 🙀 😂
On first glance, it appears that we (as Pretty in Paper) do not have many Halloween themed iris folding designs but I think, with a few tweaks, many of our designs can be made more spooky! 🎃
The easiest designs
These designs are the easiest as you follow our iris folded pattern & guide perfectly with no changes (9-11 you can choose witch-ever colours you feel suits them best)
- Ghost
- Pumpkin
- Bat
- Dragon
- Black Cross
- Black Cat – Everyone knows a black cat is a Witch’s best friend
- Pumpkin Pie – A seasonal favourite
- Mini Balloon – If bright red papers were used, it would look like the famous red balloon from the movie IT (terrifying)
- Candy/Sweets
- Lollipop
- Witch
Adding themed embellishments
Small tweaks to current Pretty in Paper designs using different added embellishments
- Scary Lion (embellishments)
- Gingerbread man with vital organ embellishments
- Secret door as a Creepy door (add moss, cracks, etc)
- Zombie Owl – add red streaks or bloodshot effect to the eyes
- Toadstool with green slime dripping off it
- Vampire Bunny head – give him vampire teeth
- Mouldy Gingerbread man - add green bits to embellish as mould
- Cross with moss and blood
Changing the papers
- Creepy Cocktail
- Creepy Castle
- Haunted/Creepy house
- Zombie Gonk – change the ‘skin’ papers from the Secret Garden Gonk to create a Zombie
- Zombie Fairy - change the ‘skin’ papers from the Secret Garden fairies to create a Zombie
- Zombie Mermaid change the ‘skin’ papers from the Mermaid PDF
- Princess Dress from ‘Princess Elegance’ kit turned into Zombie Prom Queen
Repurposing designs
- The Honey Jar from ‘Bee Happy’ kit repurposed as jar of brains
- Snow Globe from the ‘Let it Snow’ kit repurposed as crystal ball
- Secret door from the ‘Secret Garden’ kit repurposed as tombstone

These all sound very spooky but great ideas I love the thought of a dragon maybe in dark red.
